Tottori Prefectural Flower Park Hanakairo

Great Stuff to See and Do!

A paradise of seasonal flowers waiting to wow you

Tottori Hanakairo is a park of 50 hectares that boasts picturesque scenery and nature looking out over the nearby beautiful Mt. Daisen. The park is covered in flowers for each of the four seasons, such as tulips and Icelandic poppies in spring; 100,000 lilies and roses that bloom from May through summer; cosmos and sage in autumn; and Camellia sasanqua and pansies in winter. The main flower of the park is the lily which is displayed all year round. In addition, Hanakairo is the only facility in Japan that exhibits all 15 varieties of naturally growing wild lilies.

In the center of the park is a dome-shaped glass greenhouse that is 50 m in diameter and 21 m high. Tropical and subtropical plants, such as palm trees, and around 1,000 different types of orchids bloom inside this dome all year round. On rainy days, the greenhouse allows its visitors to view plants out of the rain and in comfort.
