Shiretoko National Park Nature Center

The Shiretoko National Park Nature Center is a visitor center for getting to know and enjoy the Shiretoko Peninsula in depth. It provides the latest useful information for sightseeing and activities such as hiking and nature observation, as well as rental services for outdoor gear.

Inside the center, there is a video hall with the KINETOKO MEGA screen, where original video productions such as Adventures in Shiretoko and THE LIMIT are screened daily, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience the majestic nature of Shiretoko through 4K images projected on the giant screen and 5.1 channel surround sound.

There is also a mini gallery and exhibition room, where special exhibitions are held several times a year. In addition to exhibitions of photographs and paintings by local artists and creators, Shiretoko’s charms are introduced under a variety of themes, such as through an introduction to the history and culture of Shiretoko.

Outdoor goods are also sold here. Komnupuri, a shop run by the Shiretoko Nature Foundation, has a variety of Shiretoko-related items that are available to purchase, including original goods, works by local artists, and books about Shiretoko.

There is a store for familiar outdoor brands, as well as a Shiretoko branch of BARISTART COFFEE, a Sapporo coffee stand that prides itself on its milk. An exclusive food menu using ingredients from Shiretoko is also available so that visitors can enjoy Shiretoko even while taking a relaxing break.
