Great Stuff to See and Do!
Enjoy the feeling of nature in an open space
Ohori Park is located near the center of Fukuoka, and is remarkable for its beautiful pond. Its surface area covers around 398,000 square meters, and is one of the best waterscape parks in Japan, with a pond covering around half the grounds. A walking trail of around 2 km runs around the pond, and you can spend a leisurely time at one of the many sites within the park, such as the wild bird forest, children’s playgrounds, noh theater, Japanese garden, boat house, or the central islands connected by four bridges, one of which also features the Ukimi Pavilion.

The scenery changing with the time of day and seasons creates an everlasting memory

The nighttime illumination also cannot be missed. The trees and water’s edge running the 800-meter eastern side of the islands are illuminated, and you can see the stunning sight of the lights reflected on the water’s surface from the opposite shore (illumination times: everyday, 18:00–22:00; April to September: 19:00–22:00). The colors change depending on the season, so you can enjoy various different illuminations throughout the year.
At Ohori Park, you can experience the four seasons of Japan with the blooming flowers in spring, the cacophony of cicadas in summer, the color-changing leaves in autumn, and snow in winter. There is always something to see!
