Access

From the Nagasaki Ekimae bus stop, take Nagasaki Bus Lines 3 or 4 (toward Shimo-ohashi, Kami-koebaru, or Aikawa), and get out at the Fuchi-jinja-shita “Ropeway Bus Stop.” The ropeway takes about five minutes.

*Closes at the end of the hours of the Nagasaki Ropeway. (The rooftop observation area is open 24 hours a day)

Roundtrip: General 1,230 yen, junior high and high school students 920 yen, elementary school students 610 yen. One-way: General 720 yen, junior high and high school students 510 yen, elementary school students 410 yen.

Use fee: 100 yen for each 30 minute period (first 20 minutes are free)

A popular spot to enjoy the night view from Nagasaki’s landmark mountain

At the Night View Summit 2012 in Nagasaki, the night view of Nagasaki was selected as one of the world’s new top three night views along with Hong Kong and Monaco.

In addition, it was selected along with Kobe and Sapporo for the new top three night views of Japan in 2015.

Visitors can reach the top of Mount Inasa via a bus or the ropeway.

The gondolas used for the Mount Inasa ropeway were redesigned in 2011 by a designer from Ferrari and offer exceptional 360 degree views from their glass windows. The summit, at an elevation of 333 meters, offers a panoramic view of the city. On clear days, you can even see the distant vista of Mount Unzen, the Amakusa Islands, and the Goto Islands.

The observation platform was renovated in 2011 and now features romantic lighting.

In addition to beautiful night views, on clear days you can also see Nagasaki’s cityscape as well as far away Mount Unzen, the Amakusa Islands, and the Goto Islands.
