A nostalgic area where you can experience the romance of Hakodate
This exemplary Hakodate tourism spot was constructed in 1909 in the bay area. It was entirely renovated in 1988 and now contains a shopping mall, beer hall, event spaces, and more.
The retro red brick buildings allow you to experience the history of Hakodate, which served as Japan’s first port opened to international trade. As some of the city’s leading tourism spots, the buildings are always bustling during all four seasons.
A building complex with many highlights
The seven buildings operated as Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse are organized by theme in the Hakodate History Plaza, Kanemori Hall, Kanemori Yobutsukan, and Bay Hakodate, with restaurants, gift shops, and other establishments linking them together. Kanemori Hall holds concerts, exhibitions, and other diverse events.
In addition, Hakodate Christmas Fantasy, a major event, is held in front of the warehouse each winter.
